Minna Kokko

Minna Kokko seeks to reveal the invisible and intimate connection between all living beings. Her work is about restoring that connection. She feels it is urgent for humankind to reconnect with nature, and her work aims toward that end. The idea of crossing - times, spaces, identities - has been present in her work since the beginning, reflecting her dual culture between Finland and France. Her work is often composed of transparencies and overlays. Plants and trees fascinate her. She uses many photographic techniques, from digital to experimental and alternative photography.

Biography

Minna Kokko (1968) is a Finnish visual artist living and working in France. After completing a master’s degree in international relations in France, she first undertook photography while working in corporate communications at a multinational company in Paris. She was trained in photography at Gobelins l’Ecole de l’Image, digital image processing at Pyramyd in Paris, and creative digital photography at Luova in Helsinki. Her work has been regularly exhibited in solo and group shows in France and other European countries. She also works actively within several French and international artist collectives.
