About the Artwork

Georgia Matsamaki creates images that deal with the experience of loss and the probability of meeting long-lost loves again. In the many-worlds interpretation, there are countless universes, and every possible quantum state occurs in at least one universe. As time and space exist apart from the human mind, Matsamaki seeks the boundaries of this physical world. She searches for interpretations beyond the actual and the imaginary. In this body of work, the structure of a spatiotemporal viewpoint echoes in interpenetrating dimensions and alternative realities.

Georgia Matsamaki

Georgia Matsamaki was born in Crete, Greece. She holds a BA in Graphic Design and Photography, and she works in the area of Applied Arts. Along with professional assignments, she concentrates on creating personal projects. Using photography, graphic design and collage as a medium, she seeks to spot the invisible in everyday life, adding value to what we take for granted. Emphasis on the insignificant and the apparent "nothing" characterizes her images. Her work has been displayed in exhibitions worldwide and featured in online platforms focusing on contemporary photography.
