Cy Marvilla

Cynthia’s work is all about diving into the wonders of nature, and new discoveries. Through her photography, she likes to explore and push the boundaries of what we can see. She approaches each project in a unique way, starting with digging into the materials she will be using. This helps her understand how to work with them. Then, she plays around with perspectives and light to figure out the best way to highlight her subjects and capture clear, vivid images. Frequently, she employs close-up compositions. Her series focus on maximizing shapes and abstract patterns, giving rise to visuals that aspire to convey profound depth and beauty.

Biography

Cynthia Martinez is a Colombian photographer, based in Shanghai, who works with mixed media and art direction. She is Graduated from EFTI Madrid Photography School in 2021, after completing a professional cycle of Interior Design at IED Barcelona, in 2018. By acquiring new skills and reflecting on her projects, she has been steadily advancing her photographic practice over the past years. Her methods can be describe as experimentations of new things through the composition of the image itself either through installations, abstraction of a shape or the exaltation of a simple form.
